Medical negligence cases can be complex, and can take time. To get the ball rolling on your medical negligence case, the first thing you need to do is contact our expert medical negligence solicitors. Once it has been established that you have a claim, we will set out to prove two things:
Liability: this means proving that serious errors were made that should not have been made by a competent medical practitioner
Causation: also known as avoidable harm. This means that the errors made have caused injury and suffering, which would not have happened if the errors had not been made.
The evidence gathered to prove the above can include a medical examination from an independent doctor, statements, expert opinion and medical witnesses, amongst others. It is highly unlikely that your case will go to court, however, if your case goes to trial, we will be with you every step of the way with support and expert legal knowledge.
At Forbes Solicitors, our clinical negligence team covers all aspects of medical negligence from birthing injuries to medical misdiagnosis and surgery claims.
We have worked on a number of cases that have resulted in substantial payouts for victims who have unfortunately received negligent care by health professionals. One such case includes a little girl called Leona, who suffered severe brain injuries during birth. We managed to secure Leona and her family lifelong support, and our solicitors continue to be involved with the family as a court-appointed deputy to oversee the use of the funds they received in compensation. This means Leona's family were able to purchase and fit out a house that works for Leona's complex needs and helped to bring the family together. Find out more about Leona's story here. Our most recently concluded birth injury claim was the widely reported case that resulted in a £9.3 million pound pay out for the Infant Claimant.
