Rebecca joined Schofield Sweeney Solicitors in Bradford in 2014 as an Assistant Solicitor. She was promoted to Associate in 2016, and Director in 2019. During her time with the firm Rebecca developed a passion for contentious probate work and became the go to person within the firm for this work. Her expertise in this area was recognised by her being regularly asked to deliver training to the firm's private client team on contentious matters. Rebecca supplemented her developing expertise by completing the ACTAPS qualification in 2019.Rebecca has dealt with a wide range of contentious probate cases including advising on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975; removal of personal representatives; validity disputes (including undue influence and forgery claims); proprietary estoppel and constructive trust claims; claims against professional advisers; and advising trustees on breach of trust claims.
The recruitment of another senior fee earner indicates that the team continues to grow. Rebecca's experience will both strengthen the team and help to grow this practice area.
