My awards and achievements

Kirsty is highly experienced in dealing with housing management and anti-social behaviour and has higher rights, regularly dealing with her own trials. Kirsty was instructed as junior advocate on Salix Homes v Mantato in the Court of Appeal on rent possession and merger in March 2019, leading to a successful appeal for Salix Homes against a first instance decision. Kirsty dealt with the first 4 gang injunctions in Salford and was awarded a Divisional Commander's award from Greater Manchester Police for her work in dealing with crime and anti-social behaviour. Kirsty obtained the first injunction with a positive requirement for a Registered Provider in the country in 2015 and has given written evidence to parliament on gang injunctions. Kirsty regularly writes for legal and housing journals and has been published in the New Law Journal and the Call for Papers, Safer Communities.

Kirsty has provided training for the Chartered Institute of Housing, Resolve ASB and the Association of Chief Police Officers. Such topics have included cuckooing, closure orders, cannabis farms, mandatory possession claims, gang injunctions and admissible evidence, disclosure, the Court of Protection and dealing with vulnerable parties in legal proceedings.

Kirsty has been recognised in the Legal 500 for her work representing social landlords and local authorities over the last decade and regularly advises clients on mental health, discrimination and the Equality Act.
