Tom is the joint head of the Contentious Trusts and Probate Team. He acts for a range of clients including trustees, Executors, beneficiaries, in both bringing and defending a range of matters including:
Claims for reasonable financial provision pursuant to the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975;
Contesting the validity of a Will, for example on the basis of undue influence, lack of capacity, or lack of knowledge or approval of the terms of the Will;
Interpretation issues;
Breach of trust;
Trusts of Land and estoppel disputes.
Through conducting stern negotiations, mediations, Tom has successfully settled numerous high value and complex disputes on behalf of both claimant and defendant clients.Tom conducts advocacy at court, but also works with some of the best barristers in the country to deliver the highest standard of work, and achieve the best outcome for the client, often during a difficult time of their lives.Tom was recognised in 2021 within the Legal 500 publication as a 'Recommended Lawyer'.
