My awards and achievements

Helen joined the family team at Forbes in 1998 and became a Partner in 2008 before becoming joint Head of the Family Department in May 2012.

Helen Shirbon became a member of Resolution in 2001 and also became a member of the Law Society's Children Panel the same year as a representative for parents and children in public law proceedings. Helen then undertook her accreditation for specialist status with Resolution with her chosen specialisms being children law and domestic abuse. Helen's interest was in Court work and children's cases in particular and so in 2005, Helen attained her Higher Rights of Audience in Advocacy.

By 2010, Helen's niche work was public law cases and since then the majority of her work has been working with Cafcass, representing children in public law Court cases or complex private law disputes.

Helen works with numerous Children's Guardians in all aspect of proceedings involving young people across the Family Courts. The combination of children / Court work plays to Helen's strengths and qualifications/accreditations.

She is also a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer.
