Lachlan McLean is a Partner and Solicitor-Advocate specialising in Social Housing Management Leasehold, Property and Construction Disputes. His broad practice encompasses residential and commercial lease disputes (including service charge compliance e.g. Section 20 consultation), health and safety, rent reviews, rent / service charge debt recovery, forfeiture, judicial review, sheltered housing, policy and procedure review, welfare reform, tenure reform, disability equality and human rights, Section 106 / planning and construction, arbitration, boundaries and rights of way, disrepair, successions / exchanges, trespass possessions, tenancy enforcement, ASB, Right to Buy, allocations, data protection, and information sharing with statutory agencies.
Lachlan has been with Forbes since joining as a paralegal in 2005 after studying law at Cambridge University and completing the Bar Vocational Course. Lachlan qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and obtained Higher Rights of Audience in 2012. In November 2021, he was appointed as a Fee Paid (part-time) Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) in the Northern Region.
