John Myles

Department

John graduated with an LLB. Hons from Liverpool University in 1977. Having started working life as a teacher/lecturer, he qualified as a solicitor and spent many years acting for claimants in a variety of personal injury claims including complex high value cases involving brain and spinal injury as well as disease and abuse cases.

In 2015, John joined the growing social care insurance department at Forbes as the firm was instructed by a number of local authorities facing high profile abuse/child sexual exploitation claims. Since then, he has been handling abuse claims and litigation in this complex and emotive area as well as other social care claims and data protection issues involving our local authority clients.

John is a Past President and an active member of Blackburn Incorporated Law Association, and a former Vice President of Manchester Law Society.

John has given talks on subjects ranging from the insurance aspects of driverless cars to how to prepare for Inquests and has written numerous thought leadership pieces on the topic.

John says, "I am pleased to supervise less experienced colleagues and to assist the head of department whenever needed. I will always do my best for my client, at the same time treating claimants and opponent solicitors with due respect."
